Legacies of War seeks D.C. Interns

Legacies of War (www.legaciesofwar.org) is looking for two interns for its Washington D.C. office. They wish to fill the positions of an Advocacy Intern and a Communications Intern.

The mission of Legacies of War is to raise awareness about the history of the Vietnam War-era bombing in Laos and advocate for the clearance of unexploded bombs, to provide space for healing the wounds of war, and to create greater hope for a future of peace. The organization uses art, culture, education, community organizing and dialogue to bring people together and create healing and transformation out of the wreckage of war.

Internship: Advocacy Intern – Washington, D.C. Legacies of War seeks a dynamic and passionate Advocacy Intern for its Washington, D.C. office. This person will work closely with the Executive Director in advancing the goals of the organization. This position requires the individual to be motivated and to possess sound judgment and diplomatic skills. Strong writing skills is required. The ideal candidate would be a mature undergraduate or graduate student in international affairs, foreign policy, peace and security, public policy, human rights or other related fields.

Internship: Communications Intern – Washington, D.C. Legacies of War seeks a creative and dynamic Communications Intern for its Washington, D.C. office. This individual will work closely with the Executive Director in meeting the outreach and marketing goals of the organization. This position requires the individual to be motivated, collaborative, organized and to possess excellent communications and interpersonal skills. Experience in marketing/communications with solid emphasis on writing, messaging, on-line communication, social media and design is preferred. The ideal candidate would be a mature undergraduate or graduate student in communications, marketing, media, arts education, international affairs, public policy, human rights, history or other related field.
