Khaty Xiong's Ode to the Far Shore chapbook now available
I love Khaty Xiong's "Poor Anima," and find her new collection "Ode to the Far Shore" a brief but intriguing read from Platypus Press. It's a collection of laments in this instance, and covers some interesting emotional, spiritual, historical and intellectual ground in her sparse style.
It's a free chapbook in pdf form and I encourage my students to give it some thought and consider what we all might do in our own arts, as well. As a writer she has a tremendous voice that taps into her Hmong heritage as well as the world traditions of arts and letters. I would always encourage you to watch for her work, it's stunning and outstanding.
If you haven't read Khaty's work elsewhere, such as Khatyxiong.com, this is a fine place to start.
