The following list of active or presumed active literary journals in the US comprises a little over 200 publications from Louisiana to Wyoming. The majority of these should be free to submit to, but some may have specific time frames in a year that they accept submissions in poetry and prose for certain, other genres on occasion. Most should not have submission fees but double-check they may be restricted to students of particular colleges, universities or geographical residence. I have not had the chance to have extended conversations with all of the editors here, so you'll have to do your own research in that regard to determine if publication with them is a good fit. I've included links to these on my Patreon for my paid subscribers but I also want to make sure that everyone has a chance to check these publications out over time!
