The Wat Rattanamoungkhoune Buddhist Temple will open officially with a ceremony and tree planting ceremony for a meditation park on Aug. 20, 2016 at 33170 Leon Road, Winchester, CA 92596.
The day will begin with morning chanting and meditation from 4 to 6 a.m. followed by a food offering and lunch at 11 a.m. Evening chanting and meditation will run from 7 to 9 p.m. There will be spiritual talks and guided meditation throughout Saturday and Sunday.
Guests are asked to consider donation of trees for the meditation park. Avocado, mulberry and bamboo are ideal for shade.
Flowering plant offerings for the Buddha altar are suggested to include plumeria, mystery gardenia, Arabian jasmine, protea bushes, pin cushion, or king and queen protea.
The Laotian temple Abbot is Ajahn Somsanit Kantasilo. The Thai temple Abbot is Ajahn Thawin Kittipaddho.
